It is quite an adventure stepping into the unknown and serving a Senior Couples Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!  We had so many questions about what a mission would entail, and we have shared experiences beyond our wildest dreams!  We have made friends of all ages, shared talents we knew and didn't know we had, and made lives better in the process...including our own!

Senior Missionary Meeting
Mission Home, Leideschendam, September 5, 2014

Left to right:  President & Zuster Robinson, President Scheltinga, Elder & Zuster Romig (Groningen), Elder & Zuster Romig (Den Haag), Elder & Zuster Winmill, Elder & Zuster Johnson, and
Elder & Zuster Kleyn

This is our Mission Home where our Senior Couples Training takes place.  The home is in Leidschendam, a beautiful village between Leiden and Den Haag.  The Mission Home, besides being the home for President and Zuster Robinson, is used for incoming and outgoing missionaries and training for Mission Leaders and Senior Couples, etc.

It is a joy to work with President and Zuster Robinson!  Over 43 years ago ELDER Robinson and ELDER Romig worked together as young missionaries in Belgium.  Elder Robinson was the Zone Leader in Antwerpen and Elder Romig was one of his District Leaders serving in Brussels.  They each enjoy reminiscing and sharing experiences from the past.

Senior Couples arrive and complete their missions.

It is an honor to work with people who have chosen to dedicate 12 - 23 months of their lives to serving Heavenly Father's children here in the Netherlands and Belgium.  We have all left homes and families, some have left careers and many have left retirement to give unselfishly.  It is hard to grow close as we serve, then say "good-bye" when they leave to go back home!

The Senior Couples pictured below were here at the time we arrived in the Netherlands on September 13, 2013, but have completed their mission before we started this post.
