Today's P-Day Activity is one that each of us will remember for the rest of our lives!  We decided to have and activity biking to the Baptismal Monument in Friesland.  The following pictures capture this memorable day and the fun we all had.

We all met at the train station in Hurdegaryp to begin our adventure.
The bike ride with stops for picture taking took about 45 minutes.

Although our plans included riding bikes, because of Elder Romig's recent ear infection and vertigo, we drove the car with all the picnic supplies.  It broke our hearts to not enjoy biking with our "kids" (district)!

Elder Knudsen hopped off and on his bike the entire way.

Can you see the excitement on Elder Toole's face?

Fiesta...

These pictures show before and after dinner!

This is why Dutch cheese is so yummy...our cows get lots of rest while absorbing the Vitamin D found in the milk they produce!

Beautiful countryside with one of the three molens we see on the way to the monument.

Freshly cut grasses are "vacuumed" or "swept" up by huge equipment and then stored for feeding animals.

Arrival at the monument!
District Elders...notice the photo bombers wearing orange glasses?  These glasses are left-overs from King's Day, where everyone wears orange to represent the Royal Family of Orange.

PICNIC TIME!
Look closely and you'll see KFC buckets of chicken.  Yes, we have a KFC in Groningen and it was "finger licking good!"
We also had Zuster Romig's pasta salad, chips, cupcakes with water to drink.

We never forget to watch for missionary opportunities.  Elder Romig enlisted the help of the neighbor who lives next to the monument to ask him to take our group picture.  After the picture was taken, Elder Romig visited with him for quite some time about the Church and the importance of the monument.  He gave him a Pass Along Card and invited him to have lunch with us.  The neighbor then invited us to park our car in his yard while we ate at a picnic table across the street.  It was a great contact, a friend was made and it was a perfect conclusion to a perfect day at the monument.  Then we all traveled back to the station and headed to our separate areas.
                                 It was a great day!
